Well actually I doubled the stitching on the original pattern so that it would be more of a feature. I then went over to my New Critters on the Block book by Martha Ess and made lots of Itty-Bitty Bumble Bees š. The flower at the right is supposed to represent lavender but can actually be any flower, itās just that bees š like lavender.</span></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Hv6n8S2LOQc/YDjjyBGnMOI/AAAAAAAAHUU/77xA1L6x93ksKqbJ2XrOyKthrexUXAbkACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/044083BB-3A4E-49E8-9389-B64FE01F5AD5.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="376" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Hv6n8S2LOQc/YDjjyBGnMOI/AAAAAAAAHUU/77xA1L6x93ksKqbJ2XrOyKthrexUXAbkACLcBGAsYHQ/w274-h376/044083BB-3A4E-49E8-9389-B64FE01F5AD5.jpeg" width="274" /></a></div><br /><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">It was a bit of a challenge trying to get it in the right position in the frame, all the tatting is sewn on to a piece of material. Quite pleased with the result. </span></p>Sally Kersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14689082516157330679noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6773419808528632842.post-91885798458020639402021-02-14T13:44:00.002+00:002021-02-14T13:49:33.078+00:00Hearts <p>A few hearts for Valentineās Day which also may remind you of emojis </p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8NspocMoD04/YCko3ELt7sI/AAAAAAAAHTw/4b6EKkxHZvE4DryMHy02jCzT_zKRYo3TgCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/5A82CBA5-108F-43AC-81A7-601CB01382A3.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="290" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8NspocMoD04/YCko3ELt7sI/AAAAAAAAHTw/4b6EKkxHZvE4DryMHy02jCzT_zKRYo3TgCLcBGAsYHQ/w387-h290/5A82CBA5-108F-43AC-81A7-601CB01382A3.jpeg" width="387" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;">ā¤ļøššš§”</p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;">The pattern can be found <a href="http://www.janeeborall.freeservers.com/HeartButton.pdf">here</a></p>Sally Kersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14689082516157330679noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6773419808528632842.post-65918912259027375582021-01-27T20:22:00.002+00:002021-01-28T17:03:39.805+00:00More Lavender Wands<p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">I started making these Lavender Wands in August and after a few weeks abandoned the project leaving the usual mess behind! This is mainly because I did not have a lot to show, tatting seemed to be low on my priority list most of the time.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">I have tatted these snowflakes they are not a unique design in anyway but I loved the way they turned out with the Pearl beads. The white one was the first, the red one the second and when I got to the green one the bead placements and thread count was much better. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-svpfRcwSjXI/X-tHyX57HQI/AAAAAAAAHRs/oemkX_XHobo7WvYa1G-_eE6Ir9JnAoETwCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/558189B1-2423-455D-9EE2-177CEE0CA55F.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1982" data-original-width="2048" height="378" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-svpfRcwSjXI/X-tHyX57HQI/AAAAAAAAHRs/oemkX_XHobo7WvYa1G-_eE6Ir9JnAoETwCLcBGAsYHQ/w413-h378/558189B1-2423-455D-9EE2-177CEE0CA55F.jpeg" width="413" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: helvetica;">I am going to tat a few more of them and then it is back to the special pattern that I am trying to design. The thing is I have only just finished tatting it, so obviously this version is also going to be packed away until next Year.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZrbVm2NZiLs/X-htl5gNzPI/AAAAAAAAHRc/o4eJa8saupggMISD3y7ERReTxrE0H_LjQCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/7AA5EDDA-5456-4636-A7FF-1210E0F9EB65.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1370" data-original-width="2048" height="287" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZrbVm2NZiLs/X-htl5gNzPI/AAAAAAAAHRc/o4eJa8saupggMISD3y7ERReTxrE0H_LjQCLcBGAsYHQ/w431-h287/7AA5EDDA-5456-4636-A7FF-1210E0F9EB65.jpeg" width="431" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><span style="font-family: helvetica;">The pattern is from Pam Palmerās book Tatting treats and I decided that instead of using white cotton which is the version illustrated in her book I would use Christmas colours and beads. It isnāt pressed yet and resting on a cushion so may look a bit bumpy but it really is a well thought out pattern and will not need much more attention. </span><div><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: helvetica;">I am now going to start thinking about some Christmas tatting ideas of my own as I find that I can cope with the idea of having nearly twelve months to actually bring them to fruition. <br /></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span></div><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span><p></p></div>Sally Kersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14689082516157330679noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6773419808528632842.post-23564053737739741282020-12-24T12:57:00.004+00:002020-12-24T12:57:46.166+00:00Christmas Bells<p> <span style="font-family: helvetica;">Have not achieved much tatting on the run-up to Christmas, but then I did manage to finish off a few unfinished pieces as well as making about 20 cards. I knew as a loyal sister it was not right to post them until they had been properly launched and she had published the pattern, so held back, even though I just loved the design. So a few days on the Dorset coast in England mid October was no exception. At the last minute I threw some threads and shuttles in my tatting bag. Then the presenter quoted ātatting and sampler makingā in respect of how biscuit making could have gone the same way. So I tweeted that tatting was very much alive and her reply was ā One unexpected outcome of the biscuit programme is the rise of the tatters! Hurrahā</span></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">But today I have some granny squares in crochet, to show you, they are for a project I am working on, perhaps you can guess what I am making? </span></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--lz31fbW5es/X3-D-diwSXI/AAAAAAAAHLE/xW4em8wlNFIWk_GRyzbOhZyePCVeR2jkwCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/C94A4F04-412D-42A7-B2FB-62535DF4A586.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1252" data-original-width="2048" height="392" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--lz31fbW5es/X3-D-diwSXI/AAAAAAAAHLE/xW4em8wlNFIWk_GRyzbOhZyePCVeR2jkwCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h392/C94A4F04-412D-42A7-B2FB-62535DF4A586.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span></p>Sally Kersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14689082516157330679noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6773419808528632842.post-72045193189863041982020-08-20T10:17:00.003+01:002020-08-20T10:28:32.807+01:00Lavender Wands<p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">Itās that time of year to collect and dry lavender. Last year I made lavender bags but in the last few days I have tried my hand at making lavender wands. As you see not only did I weave ribbon in and out of the stems but I also added tatting and wound that around to finish them off. The aim was also to try and enclose more of the lavender especially as my weaving was not very precise. Making lavender wands is not easy to do, even though the videos show otherwise! </span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-l1flUzhFHcg/Xz4_ZmjrC6I/AAAAAAAAHKE/9EClh_Cwlsg_bDGW-yhRLjBuog_pmKvwQCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/FE00F8B9-4E22-4B19-942C-006C63272EF1.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-l1flUzhFHcg/Xz4_ZmjrC6I/AAAAAAAAHKE/9EClh_Cwlsg_bDGW-yhRLjBuog_pmKvwQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/FE00F8B9-4E22-4B19-942C-006C63272EF1.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span><p></p>Sally Kersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14689082516157330679noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6773419808528632842.post-33056009678887629602020-08-13T16:31:00.003+01:002020-08-13T16:31:43.862+01:00Sunflowers and Daisies<p> <span style="font-family: arial;">I love to see sunflowers as they a so big and bold and just remind you of smiley Summer faces. About that time there was a craze in ātat worldā to cover rings of various sizes and make jewellery or Christmas decorations. My aim was to use a series of rings to make a wall hanging,</span><br />
