It is sad to say goodbye to July for once we are in to August the feeling that Winter is only around the corner is depressing, still I have plenty of tatting projects to look forward to over the next few months.
As you can see Renulek 2014 doily has really grabbed my attention and I am staying up late at night to get more done.
This is not a very good picture because the sun was too bright, but I hope you can see that after the grey the thread is cream and the outer boarder is an off-white. There are still many more rounds to complete and of course I am going to introduce the colour grey back again before it is finished.
Oh Sally, you've missed out autumn, my favourite season! With all the marvellous countryside colours! (We got married in September) Then winter, my least favourite time, but once January arrives the days start to length which is always a cheering sign that spring will soon be here.
ReplyDeleteYour doily is growing at a good rate of knots and looking good!
Anne I do like the Autumn colours but hate it when you wake up to the cold mornings and the nights drawing in. Yep it is growing and really enjoying tatting it.
DeleteI suppose we are just different. I like fall and winter. That doily is just beautiful. Renulek seems to have a delicacy in her designs.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tim for your compliments on the doily. I just hate being cold. Agree Renulek does have delicacy in her designs and the patterns are easy to follow.
DeleteHere the days are beginning to lengthen and I'm glad about that!
ReplyDeleteHave to move over to your part of the world now then Jane!
DeleteLooking good, little sis. Do you need any threads while I'm in Canada?
ReplyDeleteThanks big sis. Do I need any threads?!!! Are you trying to tempt me?!
DeleteOf course Sally needs threads! Just ship all your clothes home and fill your suitcases with thread, thread, and more thread....and maybe some beads. You can share when you get home.

I can see the color differences, and I like the combination very much!
ReplyDeletePleased you can see the colour differences, thanks Diane
DeleteIt makes me sad too to say good-bye to July. It means school starts very soon. I love to teach but the freedom of the summer is hard to leave behind. (Of course, the paycheck thing is nice to have again....) Your doily is absolutely beautiful! It looks big already, how big at this point?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Michelle there is a sense of freedom during Summer, although not a teacher lots of things stop during the school holidays and life is less hurried, with the bonus of hopefully the sun shinning! Thanks the doily is now 14 1/2 inches and growing!
DeleteThat is beautiful!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThe doily looks wonderful. I can see the difference in the thread colors. The 2014 'napkin' is one of her prettiest, I think. I enjoy the autumn - it's my favorite season, but you're right - there is the dread of approaching cold and dark months. Here it doesn't get cold as early - we have a few warm months left. When it finally does get cold and dark, I stay indoors and tat. :) By the time I'm going nutty from being indoors, it's time for Jane's TIAS and that helps bridge the gap until spring.
