440th Post

I have now stopped making Celtic snowflakes, reached 29 and could not go on any longer, just lost the will to do anymore.  Instead started something else which is coming on nicely and will show you very soon.

More pop-a-bobbin shuttles have been made and they are being oiled and then the next stage will be the testing, always a tense exercise!  There has been a little break in production since 'im in the garage' started to make wooden lego men.

I bought a skirt this week, so there is a possibility of actually making jewellery to match it.   These are the threads and beads I found and the colours more or less match.

  1. The skirt is very pretty. I can hardly wait to see the jewelry to go with it!

  6. Beautiful skirt! Are you going to tat an edging for the skirt or tat accessories? Looking forward to seeing pics of what you make for the skirt :).

    1. Jenn just tat accessories, I think the skirt is very ornate anyway and doesn't need anything else.

    1. Jeff you might have to be quick as I rather think this lot will go pretty fast as there haven't been any for some time - Jane and myself will try and give everyone warning as to when they are going to be listed

  9. Congrats on the 440th post! And also on the 29 snowflakes! That's about 28 more than I would have the patience to make, even though it's a delightful pattern. I once had to make five 3-D eggs, and I barely got through them! I'm always amazed at tatters who advertise on Etsy that they will take orders. I simply couldn't do that!

The shuttles require so much work, and it's good for you to show them at this stage, so they can be even more appreciated. We in Tat Land are so fortunate to have them available. The fellow who made our wood shuttles here in PA would be amazed to see how In the Garage utilizes 'readily available' plastic bobbins that (at least for the foreseeable future) are available for the plastic shuttles.

I'm glad he's able to take a break from the shuttles; however, I kind of smiled when you stated that he is making Lego Men (plural). I can only assume that more members of the family are 'requesting' (demanding?) them!
