Well really I have been on this mission for a very long time now. My aim is to reduce the stock of variegated thread that I have, this does not include hand dyed thread, that is for special projects. Strangely enough the variegated thread seems to be going on for ever and ever. These butterflies not only help to use the thread up they also reduce my 'bead soup', of which I have plenty gained from so many spillages! My aim in all this is to just be surrounded with the the bare essentials - although I know it will never happen!

I keep planning on using my stash up, but it never happens. Somehow it keeps multiplying! I love the butterflies with beads. I should try something like that... or maybe more snowflakes.
ReplyDeletePerhaps this is every tatters 'mission'! Discipline is what is needed to stop supplies multiplying but it is obviously something that we don't have!
DeleteI agree with the statement made above and love the butterflies too!
ReplyDeleteSome of us actually do! Truly, it can be done! Keep up the good work. I love having whittled it all down to the essentials. So much easier once it's done... .: ))
ReplyDeleteGosh hope you are right Fox - afraid in the past got too tempted by all that lovely thread oh and beads!
DeleteWonderful butterflies!!! :) I love variegated thread colors!! :)
ReplyDeletePretty way to use up thread and beads. Do you have a plan for the butterflies?
ReplyDeleteYes Jane just to give them away, after all if I ever find a use for them I can make some more!
DeleteNonsense! "The bare essentials" means every ball or spool of decent quality thread and every bead I can ever lay my hands on. I must have it all! Now if only someone would buy me a bigger house...
ReplyDeleteOh Miranda you did make me laugh. Please don't turn me away from my 'mission!'
DeleteI'm trying to do this too - but I think I had too much to begin with. Still, I am making progress - didn't have just the right shade of green I wanted for a leaf, and instead of jumping on the phone to order it immediately, I chose a ball that I have already. I am getting rid of threads - slowly - but unashamedly continue to amass tatting books......
ReplyDeleteMaureen when so many different coloured threads became available I think we all went crazy and it is nice to almost always have the thread you want. But don't forget I have to also make room for the threads I will eventually inherit form jane!!! Do hope she doesn't read this!!!
DeleteUmmmm, are you plotting my demise, Sally?
