Blue Square

Just started Jane's Fandango Square Doily,  but could not decide what colours to use.  At the moment sticking to blue, but that may change!  The colour probably reflects how a lot of the country is feeling after voting to come out of the European Union and the English team knocked out of Euro 2016 (football).

For a long time now I have wanted to crochet an "Amigurumi". The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll.

On my travels yesterday I picked up this book.

Now to find time to actually make one!

  1. Doily is looking good and the book is something like one I just got not too long ago. (There is a reason for the separation I can understand it.)

  2. The pink rabbit looks cute! I'm sorry you're all feeling blue, but Life goes on, doesn't it!

  3. Your doily looks beautiful but I'm sorry you're ble. In a few weeks, I get to go to England to visit a dear friend who is also quite ble. I'll do my best to bring good cheer!

  4. I did wonder what the word meant, thanks. Blues look good, despite the symbolism!

  6. The Fandango Square and Rectangle make such pretty doilies - very appealing in their design and 'simplicity'. Plus, they are a wonderful way to experiment with color.

The Amigurumi animals are so cute. There are several excellent video tutorials showing how to make similar animals - small or large. And I see there are animal 'magnets' too, using just the heads, either flat or 3D! Too many things out there I'd like to make!

    1. Too true Kathy there are so many things out there to make, and although I bought this particular book, the internet has increased our craft knowledge in so many ways.
