Necklace finished

I am so pleased I managed to complete this necklace and have already worn it and received some lovely compliments.

One of the main reasons why I came to a halt and the necklace lay abandoned for years was that originally there was going to be a tatted chain from the end two motifs, so I left a large picot without a bead ready to accommodate the chain.  However, it then looked as though the necklace would not lie well unless there was a chain on the top of all the motifs. It was at that stage, in the middle of tatting it, that I gave up, lost the thread and the beads and the will to actually continue.

The HDT I used is either Yarnplayers or Karey Solomons, sorry completely forgotten, but lovely Autumnal colours.

  1. Such a simple solution and then you have a wonderful necklace! It’s spectacular. A shame it has languished for so long.

  3. So thankful you did not give up on this! It's beautiful. Is it your design or from someone else's pattern? I had HDT from Yarnplayer that this reminds me of but used it all and do not remember color name.

    1. Thanks very much Karen, I rather think the motifs are worked from one of Jane's patterns, but again can't remember. But so pleased I can at last wear it!

  5. We missed you last weekend! I had a good time with your sister though.

I'm pretty sure this is Yarnplayer's thread. Color changes don't look like Karey's HDT.

    Lovely necklace!

    1. Thanks Crazy mum, I see what you mean about the colour changes, so it must be Yarnplayer's thread. I expect you did have a great time with Jane, those weekends go far too quickly. My travelling is now concentrated on Asia, for obvious reasons!

  8. Great solution, if it didn't lie flat you wouldn't see the beauty of the work. I bet you can't wait to wear it.

  9. I've been following this saga and haven't had a chance to comment. So glad you finished the necklace and it's now 'out and about' and being seen and admired! (This looks like Jane's 'Square Motif on Metal Center' motif, which she apparently created in 2012.) Beautiful thread. You finished it just in time for Autumn, although I'm in no hurry to see October coming round the bend! Although we do tend to have nice weather in the Fall. So glad Jane is having a good time here across the pond. Looking forward to reading about her adventures!

  10. Ah Kathy I think it is Jane's square motif, again wondered where the pattern came from, so long ago I can't remember. Same as me not keen to see October as the nights are getting darker and the weather colder.
